Mushroom
Mushrooms are edible fungi that provide a variety of nutrients, including protein, fiber, B vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and, in some varieties, vitamin D. They are versatile foods commonly used in soups, stews, sauces, salads, stir-fries, and other dishes.
Regularly including safe, edible mushrooms in a balanced diet may support immune function, heart health, digestion, energy metabolism, and overall nutrition. Some mushroom varieties also contain bioactive compounds being studied for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
Important: Only eat mushrooms that are correctly identified as edible. Some wild mushrooms are poisonous and can cause serious illness.
